Young Han Solo finds adventure when he joins a gang of galactic smugglers, including a 196-year-old Wookie named Chewbacca. Indebted to the gangster Dryden Vos, the crew devises a daring plan to travel to the mining planet Kessel to steal a batch of valuable coaxium. In need of a fast ship, Solo meets Lando Calrissian, the suave owner of the perfect vessel for the dangerous mission -- the Millennium Falcon.

The film features an original score from composer John Powell incorporating a brand new theme for Han Solo composed by John Williams, as well as utilizing other themes from the original Star Wars trilogy.

John Powell has composed the scores to over 50 feature films. He is  known for his scores for animated films, including: AntzChickenRunRobotsHappy Feet (and its sequel), three Ice Age sequels, RioHow to Train Your Dragon, and its 2014 sequel.

He has also scored many live-action films, including the first three and the fifth Bourne films, United 93, and Green ZonePowell was a member of Hans Zimmer's music studio, Remote Control Productions, and has collaborated frequently with other composers from the studio, including Harry Gregson-Williams and Zimmer himself.
